I may have missed the deadline for the
2011 One Page Dungeon Contest, but I'd be damned if I was going to miss out on the
Risus One Page Challenge. Brent Wolke of the
engine of thwaak threw down the gauntlet on the
Risus Talk mailing list and the
Risus Fan Forum. To sweeten the deal for my involvement, he drew inspiration from my
WilderWords and stipulated that all entries must use the evocative words: Obelisk, Abandoned, and Howling.
Perfect. My own
1PDC idea was pretty much already geared to using those words. All I needed to do was replace my "jade monolith" with an obelisk and I'd be set. So borrowing from my successful
run of the dungeon using
Old School Hack, I whipped up a
Risus purple version of the map and added details for use in play.
Special thanks to S. John Ross for making so many
cool fonts available for my use and abuse. I apologize for any eye-strain my use of tiny font sizes might cause.
UPDATE: The One Page Challenge repository has moved
here.

Very nice!
Sweet. Love the design.
Yup I'm digging it!
Thanks! I had been meaning to do this for a few months now and the OPC was a great excuse.
It is important for you to know that I think this is aces.
Wow! I've been wanting to prep running a Risus game to try when we can't run our regular D&D game for whatever reason, and this collection of OPDs is just what I needed. Thanks for the link! I look forward to studying Risus more seriously and trying it out with my players. Thanks!
@Dr Rotwang: Thanks! That means a lot :)
@Staples: Much obliged. I'd live to hear from you if you end up running the dungeon.
Just. Wow. Great stuff!
Word Verification: sparks.
Considering what this 1pD does to the imagination, highly appropriate.
So, I ran a Risus game tonight for our session. I enjoyed it a lot and posted a review/play report here:

Thanks again for pointing these OPDs out and for getting me interested in Risus in the first place.
@J. Random: Thanks!
@Staples: Cool write up and welcome to the Risus collective!
