The
Ruminator and
snikle already scooped me on this, but I feel like I should single out Kaptain Kobolod's first
Risus/Mythic GME adventure as well. As you could probably guess from my own
Mythic play reports (
here,
here,
here, and
here), I'm a big advocate of using
Risus for solo gaming. Kaptain Kobold's story is called
"A Study In Scarlet" and it's posted over at the
RPG.net forums -
part I,
part II, and
part III. It makes me want to get back to my various
Mythic adventures as soon as possible.

I agree, I love the time period and seeing Risus and Mythic work so well together (plus I love seeing how people deal with behind the scene mechanics), just makes me want to try my hand at it.
I'm glad you're finding it helpful. I'm new to both the GM Emulator and Risus, and I'm very rusty with regards to RPGs - I haven't really done that much role-playing in the last 20 years or so, being more of a miniatures/boardgame sort of person. So it's a bit of a learning experience for me.
I'd certainly welcome comments.
@Matt: You should give it a go. It's great way to play old characters that you love and in new worlds/genres that you can't get around to exploring otherwise. I love how Mythic takes what's in your own imagination and uses it in ways you wouldn't have expected.
@Kaptain: You would never guess that you are a Risus or GME first timer. You seem to be doing it in much the way as I would.
@Risus Monkey
Thanks. Basically I've read every Risus and/or Mythic GM AAR I could find on the web, and I'm just 'copying' what those people did. So I have you to thank for a lot of it :)
I'm keen to give Mythic (and probably Risus) a go as a two-player game with my wife, both of us playing characters. She has a far more vibrant and active imagination than I do, would generate some good stories from the results, whilst I am better with game-mechanics and rules, so would keep the thing running smoothly. O potentially good team :)
I found out about Mythic from reading your blog. It's of necessity a little ways down on my reading pile, but I've skimmed it and it looks awesome. Can't wait to get my hands into it!
Here's an idea that just popped in my head: as a fellow Castle Falkenstein fan, could you see CF and Mythic working well together? It just occurs to me that CF is probably rules lite enough (particularly as I favor the "Fearful Harm & Great Danger" system from Comme Il Faut) plus the journal-keeping aspect of CF would seem to be a natural for a solo game...
@Kaptain: I'm sure you'll have a great time with your wife. My Lankhmar story was a three person Mythic/Risus collaboration and it worked very well. Of course, that was play by post. I've always wanted to try the GME with other people face-to-face. When I game with other people, it's always been in the traditional the GM & Player mode.
