Introduction: Playing a Comic Book the Mythic GME
Previous Scene: Page 4
Ebon Knight springs from his crouch to charge the Wolf Creature, lunging forward with his sword.
Viewed from the side, Ebon Knight's sword is buried to the hilt in the Wolf Creature's gut. His head looks up at its howling visage.
EBON KNIGHT: Tell me that doesn't hurt!
Ebon Knight parries a wild strike by the Wolf Creature as he withdraws his sword, spurting blood all over himself and the white snow. He is just starting to back-pedal away in an unbalanced manner. The thugs are just visible in the background, shouting at each-other in fear an confusion.
WOLF CREATURE: HOOOOOWL!
EBON KNIGHT: Ah!
MUGSY!: Do it!
PANEL 4 (left)
Mugsy jump-starts Ebon Knight's motocycle.
SOUND EFFECT: VROOMRUMRUM
PANEL 5 (right)
Thug #1 hooks the grappling hook to a convenient hold on the stolen chest.
Ebon Knight and the Wolf Creature both turn their heads from their opponents to look as Mugsy speeds off on the motorcycle down the snowy alley with the chest trailing behind. Thug #1 can be seen to be celebrating (for the moment).
EBON KNIGHT: Hey!
SOUND EFFECT: BERRRRR RERRRR

EXPECTED SCENE: I expect Ebon Knight and Sylvia to face off against each other while the Thugs flee into the night.
SCENE IS ALTERED...
Q: Do the two thugs regain their composure and try to make off with the package [50/50]? Yes.
Q: How Ebon Knight reacts depends entirely on if he knows Sylvia or at least considers the possibility that the werewolf may not be a malevolent monster. I'm going to Mythic for the answer, rather than an ICONS test. Does Ebon Knight believe the werewolf to be a person or person-like (Sylvia on Extraordinary Success) [Somewhat Likely... better than 50/50 because Ebon Knight's been in Silverlode a little while]? No. He has no idea.
Ebon Knight will charge Sylvia and attack with his sword (Slashing Attack). Prowess (6+2 weapons) vs. Sylvia's (4). Margin is 6, a Massive Success.
I'm going to flat out say that ebonite is *not* silver and thus Sylvia's invulnerability protects.
Damage is 5 (0 after Invulnerability). Ebon Knight must still test his damage (5) against the Sylvia's strength (7). Sylvia survives the killing blow unscathed.
NOTE: It is immediately apparent that there is little chance that Ebon Knight will damage Sylvia. It's ok, I see why. But if I ran for other people, I might opt to include a damage roll. Or perhaps a power-strike maneuver or something.
Illustrate the effects of the previous attack.
Q: Does Sylvia use her (lethal) claws [Unlikely]? Yes.
Sword buried into her gut, Sylvia strikes Ebon Knight away with a her claws (she is either really pissed or she doesn't know Ebon Knight is one of the good guys). Ebon Knight must defend using Prowes (6...no specialty bonus) vs. Sylvia's (4). He withdraws the sword and parries her blow as he backpedals away from her.
PANELS 4 and 5
Q: Do the thugs try to use the grapple and motorcycle to haul away the loot (as was Ebon Knight's original plan) [Likely]? Yeah
Thug#1 races forward to hook the grappling hook to a convenient latch on the chest while Mugsy starts the bike.
Finnish the page with Mugsy driving off without Thug#1. Sylvia and Ebon Knight are visibly surprised and annoyed.
(stats for Sylvia in Risus and ICONS will be forthcoming)
