Kelthas reaches the third floor, to find a large chamber, larger than the one below, filled with the stuff of nightmares.Q: Is there a black sorcery ritual in progress? [Likely]Yes
Q: Is Ilsbert's aunt the officiating sorceress? [50/50] Exceptional Yes.
Q: Is she summoning a demon of some sort? [Likely]Yes
Q: Given the NPC negative result earlier, does this mean she has lost control of the spell?[Somewhat likely] Yes
Q: Is the demon controlling her? [50/50] Yes
Q: are there additional demons there? [Unlikely] Yes... I'll say 1d6 more... 2
Q: What does the head demon look like? Chaotic Shiny generator = human sized equine monster, Seventh Sanctum = Slasher of Phogula... Nice. And it's minions? Worm Inheritors From Krubholi
Q: So, cliches... say :
Slasher of Phogula (5)A circle drawn in blood marks off a large portion of the room, with numerous candles along the circumference. Eldritch symbols cover the walls, also drawn in blood.
2 Worm Inheritors From Krubholi (2) [can team up for a total of (3)]
Ilsbert's Aunt
Two-timing, Social-climbing, Golddigging Cougar (3), Ambitious, Overreaching Black Sorceress [30 Seeing as how she is presently under the Slasher's control]
Several bodies lie strewn across the floor. Men and women, either dead or dying as their bodies bleed out. Their wrists and throats slit as they lay in a drugged stupor.
Kelthas stares in horror at the two women who attacked him earlier, now limp in the embrace of man-sized worm-like creatures, whose leech-like mouths suck the life from their veins.
A spicy scented smoke rises from censers placed around the room. Through the haze, Kelthas can see a nightmarish creature. A dark man-like shape, with chitinous scythe blades for arms, and a head resembling that of an emaciated horse with a mouth twisted into a sharp-toothed grinning rictus.
Beside the equine demon, there stands a woman clad only in a diaphanous loin-cloth and a golden half-mask, similar to that worn by Lycinia and Ilsbert, but exposing the bottom half of her face.
When the demon speaks, with a voice like the rustle of a thousand locusts' wings, the woman's mouth moves in unison as she echoes the words.
“Aaahhh, more nourishment arrives. She promised us a fat man's soul to feast on, but we prefer younger, more vibrant prey.”
Kelthas heart races in his throat as he stares in morbid fascination as the repulsive creature gently caresses the woman by carefully drawing the back of a scythe-like claw across the woman's throat, without breaking the skin.
“Her own soul tastes sweet enough. Soon we shall consume all of it, and grow strong enough to break the bonds of this crude cage.”
To be continued...
