Kelthas' eyes widen in surprise at Nivek's revelation of the masked woman's identity, and something else flashes there briefly. Hesitation? Fear?
Kelthas quickly recovers, however, and lifts his chin defiantly. A mischievous grin returns to his face.
“Well, now, Nivek,” he says, still holding the saber at Lycinia's throat. “That's certainly a dangerous thing to say. A powerful noblewoman like the Overlord's cousin might feel threatened by such words.”
“Fortunately, all we've seen is a beautiful woman with stunning eyes in a finely crafted mask. She could be anyone. She's probably no one of consequence, isn't that right, poppet?”
Lycinia's gaze flicker's back and forth among the men, recognizing the offer for what it is.
She returns a considering look at Kelthas.
“We just converse briefly,” the mercenary adds. “To ascertain the fate of our client, Ilsbert, and then everyone just walks out of here.”
