Uncomfortable conversations and a disturbing encounter.

Meanwhile, back in the common room, the wench looks at Lycinia and says, "I don't want anything to do with this. When they find out what you are doing with the boy..."

And with that, she makes a break for it...

The tall northerner blinks in surprise as the dark-haired wench runs for the doorway. He briefly considers following her, but realizes that would mean leaving the red-cloaked Ilthmart alone with the masked woman and her cronies, at least one of whom still holds steel. However, the wench's fear makes him even more curious about the whole mess.

"I believe that means, dear lady, that you do know the whereabouts of this Ilsbert pup." The big man's voice is sonorous and calm, yet not without ardor. "As these rogues said, there is no need for further swordplay. Tell us where he is."

RISUS: Lecherous Roaring Skald (2) vs. Fast and Loose Licentious Nobewoman (3): 3 vs 11! She's tough as nails, boys!!

The woman's laughter is as cold as the ivory of her mask. She knows that these rogues would be mad to harm her, and they have displayed no such fey mood. "Save your uncouth charm for the bedchamber, where it actually does some good, barbarian. I shall be leaving presently." She pauses to push the saber blade away from her, with a haughty look at Kelthas. "I suggest that the two of you do the same, and forget about that fool who rushed upstairs."

Q: Does the masked henchman have any back up upstairs? [50/50]: Yes.

She nods, and the guardsmen move to help their wounded comrades to their feet. Cytan looks at the two swordsmen with what looks to be some embarrassment as he moves beside his mistress. She spares a last glance at Hresstan. "I suspect you will not heed my advice. What a waste. Let us depart, Cytan." As she starts for the door, Kelthas and Hresstan exchange a glance before dashing up the stairs. Kelthas takes the lead and hears the rasp of steel on leather as the barbarian draws his sword, cursing bitterly under his breath.
