Welcoming the Wulf

If you aren't getting enough Risus on this blog then you should definitely head on over to Greywulf's Lair. He's recently started adding Risus stats to all his characters in effort to add character that you just can't get with most other systems. Of course, I wholeheartedly approve of this. I love reading well-written RPG characters but my eyes usually glaze over when I get to the game statistics. But if Risus cliches are provided then I'll read them before anything else. Risus cliches can be like poetry - in just a few well-chosen words they can communicate more information than an entire character sheet.

Greywulf has an eloquent introduction to Risus in his RISUS Superheroes! post. He also has a great take on rescaling Risus for use Superhero games. I always thought Risus would be perfect for supers and I can't wait to see what he does in future posts.

I just read for the first time (over at Greywulf's) about Risus. I can't wait to drop it on my group. I don't know what they'll do, but I can't wait to try.

I think it would be perfect for when one of us can't make it to the regular game.

Cool beans. I'm sure your group will love it. Risus is great for pickups.

Awwww shucks. Thanks for the praise!

I've admired Risus for a while and have a fair few sessions under my belt already. Now my group is itching for a lighter game after a load of heavy 4e D&D sessions (not to mention a desire to get back to superhero gaming) seeing how Risus would fit the bill seems ideal. I'll let you know how we get on :D

Thanks, again!

This is really weird timing. My Thursday night group all had a rough week and we just were not really up for too much. I was watching the Kick-Ass trailer and Bryan suggested we use Risus to play a game based on it. And so we did.
Great fun ensued and it proved once again that Risus kicks ass, even with supers! Welcome to the Risus blogosphere Greywulf! I look forward to reading your posts.
