CHARACTER GENERATION & WORLD-BUILDING NOTES
Image
My python script selected another D&D 4e preview image from the WotC site. This one depicts a quintessential Fighting Man. Even though he is obviously a horseman, I like how he is *not* a stereotypical medieval knight.
Name
Used the Fantasy Name Generator to come up with something vaguely Euro-Celtic.
Backstory
The gist is that Tenistan took an early retirement from his career as cavalry officer (knight without all the pomp and circumstance) to raise sheep & cattle on land purchased from the spoils of war. Being on the borderlands, it was eventually over-run by Gnolls. Tenistan lost everything (including a wife and three children). The only thing he retained was his armor, a few weapons, and his trusty horse Comet. Since that day, he has dedicated himself to adventuring in the wild-lands and to a) regain his fortune and b) exact revenge on the barbarian humanoid tribes so often found there. He has frequently taken bounty hunter jobs to make ends meet.
Setting
Tenistan is from a human barony that is not far from the starting region of the campaign. The land is still quite unsettled, though, and he won't have any special knowledge of the uncharted lands.
