A brief scene in which the party exterminates some vermin and decides to pursue another avenue of exploration.

The scene occurs as expected.
Choosing to confront the sounds of vermin directly, the party opens the door into a [D&D Dungeon Generator] 30' by 30' room with two doors on the left wall and a door directly opposite this one. There is a slight updraft coming from a gaping hole in the floor (presumably where the bats came from) right in front of this door. There are two giant boring beetles on the opposite side of the hole munching on a rotting rug and a decaying wooden idol. There is a lingering smell of old smoke and the room sports countless cobwebs. There are also numerous discarded and empty bottles and flasks.
NOTE: The dungeon map has been corrected (the hobgoblin temple and the bats room were not drawn correctly).
Valdora: "The beetles and bats obviously came up through the hole. We could cross it with care, though that floor definitely looks unsafe."
Kandara: "I wonder if those are potion vials or something more mundane?"
Liamas: "Hello? Beetles!"
Tenistant (drawing his bow): "Liamas is right. Let's dispatch the vermin first."
Arien readies her bow as well and between her and Tenistan, the beetles are soon peppered with arrows [No need to roll].
Hal: "We could cross the floor or even descend into the depths. However, I'd recommend taking the easier route and backing up to other doors that we have not yet opened."
The party agrees and backs through the door back into the bat room. Opening the western door, they find a 40' x 40' room that is empty and dark. With magical light cast by Hal [RISUS: easily beats his TN6 roll], it appears to be a dank, moldy torture chamber with an occasional rat visible chewing on an old mattress in the corner. There are four doors on the opposite side room. There is a table with tumb-screws and other implements, as well as a holy symbol to the hobgoblins' god on the wall.
Liamas advances into the room and listens at each door in turn.
Q/RISUS: With a roll of 12 on his Rogue cliche, does he hear anything [Unlikely]? No.Liamas: "All quiet. The doors all lead to empty cells... well, empty other than the remains of whoever died here."
Q: Are they empty cells [Likely]? Yes.
Arien: "Let us not linger in this torture chamber. I suggest we collect our treasure and back out to the entrance hall. I'm still a little worried about that lit torch. If there are other inhabitants of this complex then they may notice our activities. Better to confront them on our own terms."
Tenistan: "I agree with Arien. Let's make for the light."
