The fourth character in my Beyond Sanctuary Mythic GME Old School Sandbox game.

Liamas Appledore
Young Halfling male with unruly red hair and sideburns; typically wears leather armor and always has a smile on his face. Capable of wearing boots but like most Haflings of this world, he usually chooses not too.

Cliches: Fearless Halfling Adventuring Rogue (4), Daring Thief-Acrobat (3), Fun-Loving Swashbuckler (2).

Lucky Shots: [ ] [ ] [ ]

Languages: The Common Tongue of the North. He is well-read and can use either his Rogue or Thief-Acrobat cliches to see see if he can read a new language (and to what degree of proficiency) when it is first encountered.

Tools: Leather armor, shortsword, two daggers, thieves tools, leather armor, sling, bag of sling bullets, climbing kit (includes silk rope and grapple).

Other Possessions: 100 gp, 8 sp. Clothes, backpack, bedroll, winter blanket, flint & steel. Flask (with liquor), 1 week trail rations, waterskin.

Fearless Halfling Adventuring Rogue: Being fearless; being small & unobtrusive; being highly resistant to magic & poison; being able to walk barefoot in hostile environments; eating vast quantities of food; being a connoisseur of food; hiding in outdoor cover or shadows; moving silently; throwing rocks and other weapons; being highly coordinated; having fast reactions; being hard to hit; backstabbing enemies; fighting with light weapons while wearing leather armor; picking locks; finding traps; removing traps; picking pockets; climbing walls (and other obstacles); hearing noises; reading languages. Eventually, he may even be able to read magic (when the cliche hits level 5).

Daring Thief-Acrobat: Being fearless; breaking & entering; being stealthy; planning elaborate heists; jumping; climbing; tumbling; balancing; pole-vaulting; having cat-like reflexes; fighting with light weapons in leather armor.

Fun-loving Swashbuckler: Being the life of the party, consuming large amounts of food & drink; swinging from chandeliers; sliding down banisters; fighting with bladed and improvised weapons.

CHARACTER GENERATION & WORLD-BUILDING NOTES

Image
This time, my python script selected an image from Neverwinter Nights. For that old-school feel, I was hoping for a traditional Tolkienesque Halfling. As evidenced by the image, this guy is a little more gonzo than that. It's ok since blacksheep Halflings who are go against type are a cliche in their own right.

Name
Tolkienesque and derived from my younger son's name. The Appledore surname is one that I have used before in various pencil & paper or computer games.

Backstory
Liam's shire is tucked in an out-of-the-way mountain valley, under the protection of one of the few stable human kingdoms in the region. This his race is blessed with good luck and varied skills,  few of them venture out into the wider world. Liamas is a odd-ball in that he actually left home to seek adventure. He has known Tenistan Rhial for some time and the two of them have become inseparable (if unlikely) friends.
